Wáhta Semiconductors Photonics is a spinout from Polytechnique Montréal, born in the Nano and Quantum Semiconductors Laboratory where Anthony Nomezine and Prof. Oussama Moutanabbir developed cutting-edge infrared technologies for sensing, imaging, and communication. Our innovation leverages group-IV semiconductors epitaxially grown directly on silicon, a breakthrough that not only extends the operational wavelength range but also integrates full functionality on silicon chips, fully compatible with CMOS technology. The unique features of our technology make it ideal for dual-use applications, including security and recognition systems, autonomous vehicles, smart cities, data communication, environmental monitoring, and biochemical sensing.
